History: Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices known to man. The Greek word ‘Kinnamon’ means ‘tube’ or ‘pipe’. It was valued in ancient Egypt not only as a medicine and beverage flavoring but also as an embalming agent and is also mentioned in the Bible. Cinnamon was so precious that it was considered more valuable than gold throughout some of its history.

Therapeutic Properties: The therapeutic properties of Cinnamon Leaf oil are analgesic, antiseptic, antibiotic, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cardiac, carminative, emmenagogue, insecticide, stimulant, stomachic, tonic and vermifuge. Cinnamon leaf oil has a higher eugenol content than the bark oil, which increases its analgesic properties.

Suggested Uses:
• Aromatherapy
• Massage/bath oil
• Household cleaners
• Insect repellant
• Skin preparations (lotions, creams, soaps)

Cinnamon oil can be used for infection of the respiratory tract, rheumatism, arthritis and general muscular aches and pains. It calms an exhausted feeling of depression, tones the whole body and stimulates the glandular system, thus easing period pains.
